Artist Bio

Eclipse was formed in Stockholm in 1999 by singer Erik Mårtensson. Shortly after they landed a recording deal with the English-based “Z” label, impressed with the material the band demoed. In order to produce what was to become the first Eclipse album, Erik completed the line-up with Magnus Henriksson on lead guitar and Anders Berlin on drums and keyboards. The first album "The Truth & a Little More" was completed and released in 2001 on Z Records.
In 2003 Eclipse signed with Frontiers Records and released their 2nd album “Second To None”, which was a critically acclaimed release among the melodic rock press. This time the line-up featured Erik Mårtensson on vocals and guitar, Magnus Henriksson on lead guitar, Fredrik Folkare on bass, Magnus Ulfstedt on drums and Mats Olausson (ex Yngwie Malmsteen) on keyboards. This album created a faithful and strong following for the band and brought Mårtensson to guest on Brazen Abbot's latest studio effort “My Resurrection”.
Due to difficulties within the band and line-up changes again, Eclipse took a couple of years off and it wouldn't be until early 2007 before they started writing for a new album.
Erik Mårtensson & Magnus Henriksson (who were the surviving members of the band) vision this time was to go for a more straightforward, classic and riff oriented Hard Rock style more oriented toward the sound of Whitesnake, Talisman and Europe.
The title for their next release on Frontiers Records is “Are You Ready to Rock” and the new rock steady line-up of 2008 includes Erik Mårtensson, Magnus Henriksson, Robert Bäck on drums and Johan Berlin on keyboards.
They are ready… are you?
